Matrix Medical Network Recognizes National Nurse Practitioner Week
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona, November 12, 2018 – Matrix Medical Network (Matrix) is recognizing nurse practitioners nationwide and within our own clinical teams during National Nurse Practitioner Week, November 11-17.
Nurse practitioners (NPs) are celebrated this week in recognition of their professional accomplishments and the wide-ranging impact their valuable contributions have on the healthcare delivery system and patient outcomes. Matrix NPs work in different areas of member care which can include increased visibility and control to connect diagnosis to medications, coding, education, communication with a member’s primary care physician, case management referrals and coordination of care.
“Nurse practitioners play such an important role in ensuring individuals get access to patient-focused, cost-effective, quality care so they can make informed decisions on their health and lead healthier lives,” said Dr. Carmen Hill-Mekoba DNP, APRN-BC, CCM, COHN, Matrix senior vice president of clinical services. “This week, Matrix is extremely proud to honor the service of all NPs, and commend our own broad network for their clinical expertise and commitment to providing high quality, compassionate care to the members we serve.”
Delivering high quality care and collaborating with other healthcare providers for coordination of care is a normal part of an NP’s routine. They have expertise in delivering primary care services and across multiple specialties to diverse populations in the home, on mobile health clinics and in medical facilities. Millions of Americans nationwide have received exceptional care from a nurse practitioner at one time or another, and many choose an NP as their provider of choice.
During this special recognition week, please join us in honoring NPs for being a vital part of improving patient care by helping individuals get access to the healthcare they need to better manage their health.
