As shared by a Matrix Nurse Practitioner:

During nurse practitioner Laura’s visit, the member said that she was becoming concerned about shortness of breath, even when she was on her oxygen. She said it was something she was going to mention at a future doctor’s appointment.

In providing a very thorough exam, Laura discovered the woman had a heart murmur, blockage in her carotid artery and an abnormally fast heart rate.

Laura called the woman’s primary care physician who said that all of Laura’s findings were new symptoms. The doctor shared her gratitude for the phone call and promptly scheduled an appointment for the member.
